A call to action to meaningfully engage youth and young evaluators in evaluation A call to action to meaningfully engage youth and young evaluators in evaluation The ‘Youth in Evaluation’ initiative is a flagship stream of the #Eval4Action advocacy campaign. It urges the global evaluation community to commit and take action towards long-term, sustainable and meaningful engagement of youth and young and emerging evaluators in evaluation, aligned to the vision of the Pact for the Future. A call to action to join Youth in Evaluation Real and meaningful engagement of youth in evaluation provides an unparalleled opportunity to make development programmes responsive to the needs and demands of the youth. It raises youth voices and agency in evaluation, making evaluation a transformative force for inclusive, equitable and sustainable development. Eval4Action invites individuals and institutions, including governments, parliamentarians, VOPEs, United Nations agencies, evaluators, academia, private sector, and the development sector at large, to sign the Youth in Evaluation manifesto and adopt the Youth in Evaluation standards. Launched in 2022, the Youth in Evaluation manifesto has over 1200 signatories, including about 240 organizations. The agencies supporting the manifesto include the evaluation offices of international organizations (African Development Bank, Asian Development Bank, ILO, OHCHR, UNDP, UNESCO, UNFPA, UNICEF, WFP and the World Bank) and the governments of Costa Rica, India, Kenya and Malawi, among many other stakeholders. The manifesto is also supported by CLEAR Centers for Francophone Africa, Latin America and the Caribbean, and South Asia. The Youth in Evaluation standards developed by intergenerational stakeholder groups through consultations were launched during Youth in Evaluation week 2023. The standards support the implementation of the commitments in the manifesto by improving accountability and practice on engaging youth in evaluation. In 2024 and 2025, 105 self-assessments on the standards were received. Those demonstrating excellence in upholding these standards, based on their self-reported progress, are recognized as Youth in Evaluation Champions. • Dialogue on women's rights | Future of Evaluation

The Future of Evaluation dialogue brings together leading evaluation experts and leaders, young and emerging evaluators and new voices in the evaluation community and beyond, to explore how innovative approaches and adaptations can make evaluation more influential given the evolving global landscape. Thursday, 10 March 2026 8:00 am - 9:15 am ET Register How can evaluation accelerate rights, justice, action, for all women and girls? In observance of the International Women's Day on 8 March 2026, the eighth Future of Evaluation dialogue explores how evaluation can move beyond measurement to actively accelerate rights, justice, and transformative action for all women and girls in an increasingly complex and unequal world. The session will examine how feminist, rights-based, and participatory evaluation approaches can challenge structural power imbalances, make invisible inequalities visible, and strengthen accountability for gender-responsive policies and programmes. Bringing together evaluators, policymakers, activists, and practitioners, the dialogue will reflect on how evidence can be mobilised in real time to inform decision-making, amplify women and girls’ voices, and support intersectional approaches that leave no one behind. Moderator Gabriela Rentería Flores is a monitoring, evaluation, and learning specialist working at the intersection of climate action, sustainable development, and public policy. She has contributed to evaluation initiatives and served as Chair of the EvalYouth Global Network. She supports evidence-based decision-making, strengthens institutional capacities, and promotes inclusive approaches in evaluation. Panelists Erica Mattellone is a senior leader in international development with over 20 years of experience advancing organizational effectiveness and evidence-informed change. As Chief of Institutional Effectiveness at UNICEF’s Evaluation Office, she leads global evaluations that translate evidence into action to protect children’s rights and expand opportunities for women and girls worldwide. Oyuntsetseg Chuluundorj is a medical doctor and a public health professional by training, with more than 20 years of experience in managing and evaluating development programmes and conducting public health research. Oyuntsetseg currently works for the United Nations Population Fund as a Regional Planning, Monitoring and Evaluation Adviser for the Asia and the Pacific region. Arushi Dubey is an Evaluation Consultant with the UN Women Independent Evaluation Service and has been with the organization for over five years. She works at the intersection of gender justice, evidence, and action—leading feminist, rights-based evaluations and translating complex findings into decisions that matter for women and girls, especially in crisis and politically constrained contexts. Stephan Paulsen is a Monitoring and Evaluation practitioner working across complex, multi-stakeholder environments in South Africa and the SADC region. With a strong foundation in programme coordination and evaluation system strengthening, he represents a new generation of evaluators committed to practical evidence use, institutional accountability and meaningful social development impact. • Walk the Talk | Eval4Action

The Eval4Action Walk the Talk video drive took place from 1-31 October 2021. The Walk the Talk Drive is a follow up to the #Eval4Action Commitment Drive held in October 2020, where worldwide commitments were made to accelerate action for influential evaluation. During the drive, VOPEs, networks, young and emerging evaluators, parliamentarians, private sector and the United Nations shared over 170 videos on actions to accelerate influential evaluation, to support equitable and sustainable recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic and the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). While the Walk the Talk drive has concluded, institutional and/or individual actions to advance influential evaluation can be shared at any time by posting a video on social media or by writing to contact@eval4action.org . The Walk the Talk drive is open to everyone , regardless of a prior commitment to accelerate influential evaluation, as all actions are vital to get back on track to achieve the SDGs. Following up on the momentum of the drive, Eval4Action regional partners nominated Walk the Talk contributors to blog on their actions for influential evaluation. These blogs take a deep dive into actions for influential evaluation , and help to learn more about how these actions were organized , overcame challenges , and their plans for scaling up . These ideas can further inspire the global evaluation community to step up actions to advance influential evaluation in the Decade of Action. Read the Walk the Talk blogs .
