Self-assessment based on Youth in Evaluation standards
The champion awards are based on self-reported progress against the Youth in Evaluation standards, launched during Youth in Evaluation week 2023. This year marks the first round of self-assessments, with submissions from 45 organizations across academia, VOPEs, youth organizations, international organizations, and the private sector. In addition, 17 UN agencies were assessed based on data collected during the ‘Mapping of engagement of young and emerging evaluators (YEEs) in UN agencies’, led by the UNEG working group on YEEs. These assessments were validated by the respective UN offices.

Recognizing innovation and inspiring action
The Youth in Evaluation champion awards spotlight the innovative ways that organizations in various sectors are advancing meaningful youth engagement in evaluation and identify potential areas for growth. By sharing these successes, the awards aim to encourage greater cross-fertilization, increase collaboration and inspire broader adoption of the Youth in Evaluation standards. Starting 8 October 2024, Youth in Evaluation champions will share in-depth insights into their actions through a series of blogs. Read the blogs
